Francis Offman

Francis Offman's canvases are abstract, fragmented compositions punctuated by the insertion of scraps of paper salvaged from bread wrappers or shoeboxes. Offman is interested in the stories of the objects and elements he works with in his paintings, he builds underlying narratives at the intersection of human and non-human experiences. Layering techniques and materials such as coffee grounds collected from his friends' mocha pots, Offman's paintings explore memory and identity as an open-ended conversation.

Offman's most recent solo exhibitions include Still Grounded, Blank Projects, Cape Town, South Africa (2025); Weaving Stories, Secession, Vienna, Austria (2025), Keep Looking, Deborah Schamoni, Munich, Germany; Economics of Painting, Mead Gallery; Notes from the Heart, La Società delle Api, Monaco and Francis Offman, Herald St, London, UK (2023).
