Gathering is delighted to participate in the second edition of Art Gstaad with a group presentation featuring works by Jamie Bragg, Emanuel de Carvalho, Tamara K.E., Harminder Judge, Tai Shani and Oda Iselin Sønderland.

In her book None of Us and Somewhere Else, Tamara K.E. writes, ‘The innovative artist today is not somebody who produces new things, but somebody who finds particular, already known things aesthetically challenging and interesting, which might otherwise seem tedious and uninteresting to others.’ Through continual innovation and reinvention of her ‘known’ subjects, K.E. maintains her creative output, particularly in her work Cool Girls Die Twice. This painting sees the aesthetics of K.E.’s oeuvre extended to new levels through vibrant multitudes of colours.

K.E.’s painting is accompanied by Oda Iselin Sønderland’s watercolour on paper, Juvel (Jewel). The work draws on the artist’s personal experiences and elements of stories from Norwegian and other cultures, introducing magical folk creatures and characters with an appearance that alludes to Japanese anime. The artist considers Japanese animator Satoshi Kon to be one of her lasting sources of inspiration.
